How does it work?

When you register with Sports Venue Traveler, we tag your entries so that you can view them later on the My Venues page. They are also shared publicly on the All Venues page.

How do I get started?

Go to the Register page and create an account. Check your email to activate your account.

What about privacy?

We respect your privacy. The only personal information we ask for is your email address. View our privacy policy.

Why do you need my email address?

We need an email address to verify that you’re a real person. We send a verification email to you when you register. This helps keep our website secure. We will never share your email address, unless it’s to provide a service or product that you request or purchase. While we reserve the right to send periodic emails, it is not something we do at this time. You may, however, receive a notification email from our private message system if someone wants to contact you.

What’s this about a private message system?

Our private message system allows you to communicate with other website users without revealing your email address. We store the messages in your account, and you receive a notification email if someone sends you a message. You can opt out of this service if you choose to (go to Settings on the private message system page).

Can I use the website without registering?

You can view others’ public sports venue entries without registering. However, you cannot add your own entries.

Do you have a lot of rules?

Not really. We do require that you agree to our Terms of Service, which includes some rules of conduct. If you are nice to others and use appropriate language, you won’t violate any rules. In addition, we have guidelines for posting entries; these are found on the Add a Venue page.

Can I comment on others’ entries?

Yes. There is a space for comments on the details page for each sports venue entry (follow the more link). At this time we are only displaying comments for three days.

How do I edit my entries and comments?

You will find links to edit or delete your venue entries on the My Venues page. Comments can be edited “in place”

Why do my entries need an exact date? I can’t recall every date.

Our database needs a complete date so that it can display the entries in reverse chronological order. If you can’t remember the exact date, just take an educated guess!

What about entries outside the US? Where do I enter the country?

No problem. Just choose Other under State. You will then see a place to type in the name of the country. The All Venues page shows every entry.

Can I just see entries from a single user?

Yes. Just click on the user / author’s name. It will display entries by just that user. To display your own entries, just go to the My Venues page.

Can I sort my entries by sport?

Yes. Go to the My Venues page. By default, your entries are displayed in reverse chronological order. If you click on the Sport heading in the table, the entries will be displayed (in alphabetical order) by sport. Click the same heading again, and the order will be reversed. This is true of all table headings, so you could also sort your entries by date or by venue.

Can I search for a particular team or venue?

Yes. Just enter it in the Search box. Spelling must be exact.

I’m only interested in Hockey! Can I just see the Hockey entries?

Yes. Just click on the Hockey icon on the right side of the page (mobile users see mobile menu for Hockey link).

How do I reset my password?

You can reset your password on the Register page while logged in.

Can I change my email address?

You can change your email address on the Register page while logged in.
